Beautiful packaging, maybe the most beautiful I know so far in fine chocolates. One of the most Japanese style packaging of something that has nothing to do with Japan or is even inspired by it, as far as I know. Stylishly folded, with nice antique gold fluting on the flap, inside of it the bar in also nice copper colored aluminum foil. Overall slightly minimalistic, on the front only the most important info, on the back also all white and only the most important info stated.
The bar itself silk-matt, the rectangle basically divided into two squares and then each of those two again consisting of 4 triangles. Each of the triangles embossed with a slightly different pattern, reminiscent of old mosaic tiles or the patterns on them, processed with great detail, breaks quite hard and very smooth along the edges, basically from a craftsmanship point of view perfection so far.
Aroma:
On the nose forest honey, walnut, some leather and apricot with pit present
Taste:
In the mouth then very fine and nice slow melting, oily in texture, remains very long and you can take your time with it. Finely roasted nut mixture, hazelnut and pecans, but really elegant, nothing over-roasted about it. Apricot, walnut, then pure cocoa, sweet leather, some anise and nutmeg, some discreet licorice also behind it
Finish:
In the finish then cardamom, walnut, elegant cocoa sweetness and leather, long, significantly longer than a Michel Cluizel from Colombia, which was tested in comparison, but which was also not bad
Comment:
Maybe not as uniquely characterful as some other Colombians with very prominent, unique notes, but a great composition with a bit of everything: fine roasted nuts, sweetness, some fruit and dryness + spice. Only acid was not much there, but would not really have fit here. Quite the exceptional quality you can feel behind all of that.
