Recipe:

- 60ml aged rum (originally Bacardi 8yo)

- 20ml P.X. sherry

- 10ml gentian liqueur

- 10ml vanilla sugar syrup

- 5ml earl grey tea

Stir all ingredients on ice until sufficiently chilled, strain into a prechilled cocktail glass, garnish with an orange zest and cherry.

A drink of which some people may need two or three sips to really get into it. You can take your time tasting, but then it wins big. Despite the PX sherry and the other sweet ingredients, it is a relatively light, silky affair with a fine spiciness.

The water from the tea and the bitterness help to balance it quite accurately and almost create the impression of a coffee and rum drink, everything blends together beautifully and is almost difficult to tell apart.
