Recipe:

- 30ml gin

- 30ml Campari

- 45ml fresh grapefruit juice

- 15ml simple syrup

- club soda to top off

In the book it says to build it in the glass, not a fan of that with 4 ingredients apart from the soda so I’d recommend to shake it very shortly on ice, strain over ice into your longdrink glass and top off with soda. Garnish with an orange wheel.

This quite simple grapefruit long drink has a nice pink color, the soda tingles, the grapefruit and matching Campari sotes match gently in the nose. Since there's little gin in the drink anyway, I can recommend a navy strength and even that's coming through here rather mild with some herbal support. Overall, it is a drink completely based on the idea to bring you close to the grapefruit in all its facets and it does that quite well. Fresh, juicy tones, but also the bitter notes of grapefruit peel and tart hints are there, overall simply an easy summer refresher, where the Campari part at least extends the finish nicely compared to some other long drinks.
