Some drinks immediately catch your eye with a special combination of their two main ingredients and make you curious how they will finally express themselves in the drink. Often, especially when these two are particularly far apart in their respective flavors, a completely new - if it is a good recipe - taste experience results, completely without contradictions. It's as if you've discovered a new spirit instead of mixing two separate ones. The Good Enough Gatsby from the world-famous Death & Co is one of those cases, though it certainly helps that some juice is included to make the transitions easier.

An absolutely fantastic drink, in the top 3 Tiki Drinks of the year I would raise it even concerning all the ones I tried out. Refreshing, complex, yet extremely drinkable, especially if you find the right rye for the job. I would recommend one with bright, nutty notes rather than something too Christmasy and spicy. A German Stork Club or a Wild Turkey 101 (recommended in the original) work fantastic here. Everything blends nicely, the pear still comes out well though, and the Fernet is the perfect icing on the cake for some freshness.
