Moon Over Pontchartrain
Recipe:
- 30ml Plantation OFTD rum
- 30ml Cynar
- 30ml Cocchi sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Stir everything without ice (this is a room temperature drink), fill into a rocks glass. No garnish.
It doesn't look all that special and sounds a bit rough in its composition, but it's probably my favorite room temperature drink - as far as other people's recipes are concerned - so far.
Super smooth and yet powerful and with depth, great for sipping in peace for over 1-2 hours, with a good book or good friends, no stress from ice, easy to prepare in a glass, brilliant. Dark molasses, mocha, plums, pickled cherries, nutmeg, cinnamon, wormwood, artichoke, it goes on and on.
