Surprisingly good balance for the amount of bold ingredients. The sweetness of the curacao does not overpower at all, the bitterness of the other two liqueurs is well incorporated. On the nose, a pleasant and concise aroma of bitter orange, licorice, smoke, agave and myrrh, with some grapefruit peel. Then in the mouth bitter & blood orange, licorice, fine bitter sweetness, smoke, agave and in the last third some clove and anise. With mezcal drinks (especially stirred drinks) I always recommend in the first attempt to split the classic Vida with a less smoky (e.g. San Cosme) one, so you are not too overwhelmed by the amount of it.
