Recipe:

- 60ml bourbon

- 15ml coffee liqueur

- 2 dashes orange bitters

- (optional:) 2.5ml simple syrup (or demerara)

Stir on ice until sufficiently chilled, strain into a prechilled cocktail glass, garnish with a flamed orange coin zest.

Tastes like it reads obviously, nicely bourbon focused, the nutty-crunchy Knob Creek for example works great here, especially since my Belle Booze coffee liqueur has this slightly smoky note because it uses a little bit of mezcal and thus roasted nuts were present en masse.

A very solid coffee drink that of course allows you to play nicely with the brands. As Mr. Difford writes in the link below, a possible addition of the syrup is of course strongly related to the chosen liqueur, since they are differently sugared and can vary a lot.
