Hibiscus Tea Syrup

Recipe:

- 1 cup water

- 1 cup sugar

- 2-3 tsp hibiscus petals/tea

Prepare normal simple syrup by heating the water on low heat (don’t let it boil) and gradually add the sugar until it dissolves completely. Then continue on low to medium heat, adding about 2 teaspoons of hibiscus tea and let stand for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the desired intensity, stirring repeatedly.

Finally filter through cheesecloth, coffee filter or similar and fill into a sterile, clean bottle and label, keeps about 3-4 weeks in the refrigerator.

A very easy to make syrup that serves wonderfully as an exciting grenadine substitute, with a added subtle vegetal and tea-like note in comparison.

In our cocktail library you can already find some recipes made with the syrup.
