Classy packaging, noble, elegant, restrained and yet the right spark of color, I also like the square format for a change, even if it reminds you painfully of a famous German manufacturer here (Rittersport), making more mainstream chocolates with lots of added stuff from nuts to buttermilk... After opening the textured cardboard packaging, you'll find a very elegant plastic wrap, printed allover with the logo & a nice pattern.
The chocolate is simply divided into 4 squares, silky glossy, nice and thin, with small logo embossing. Breaks medium hard and very straight, very flat cross section. Generally extremely high quality and perfectionist craftsmanship.
Aroma:
Directly one of the most intense aromas that I experienced so far with pure chocolate, pure plums, licorice, various berry varieties, something dark, woody behind it
Taste:
In the mouth then plum, fresh and pickled ones, intense but not too overpowering, some dates, then some fresh, slightly acidic flowers, cranberries, licorice, pomegranate, oily-creamy melt, melts in very thin layers, pure cocoa afterwards
Finish:
In the finish more crushed berries with small seeds still, licorice, cocoa bean, slight acidity, red apple, flowers
Comment:
Domori is considered the Rolls-Royce among the high-quality chocolates, with almost 7€ on 50g, but this reputation is definitely justified as you can experience with a chocolate like this. You almost can not believe that no berries are added here. The company is also one of very, very few even in the top range, which uses no cocoa butter in addition, only the one of the directly processed beans are processed and none added, therefore also no listing of it in the ingredients. Here everything in aroma and taste is really taken out of the bean and yet, for example, compared to the very wild Coppeneur Ecuador still super balanced, not too complex or messy.
