The Single Origin series is packaged in colorful cardboard boxes, for each release a different color. On it a map of the country of origin, the bar in your standard aluminum foil. Maybe not high end stuff, but solid and respectable for a brand you can find in better super markets in France. Especially great as seen here and unfortunately rather rare in the upper range: there are sample packs with all varieties in them. These are also nicely packaged and include 2 small flyers with the most important info on the different origins, very nicely done.
The bar of the Plantation Los Anconès is glossy, breaks quite hard for only 67% and straight, with small sharp edges, divided (concerning the large bars) into wide rectangular chambers, with the large company logo in the upper area and a bean embossing on the individual chambers.
Aroma:
In the nose beautiful, delicate tobacco notes of dried leaves, some cedar, olive, very dry, elegant cocoa note, no fruit actually
Taste:
In the mouth a rather fast, but very delicate and oily melt. At the start noticeable again the fine tobacco, Earl Grey tea mixed with some manuka honey. Licorice and sweet olives, dried rose petals, grape, very fine pear almost also in between the other notes, quite extraordinary mixture
Finish:
In the finish, unfortunately, already quite delicate, medium length, elegantly disappearing with finely toasted cocoa and woods, and some olive and raisin
Comment:
Very, very elegant, perfectly dry & delicately sweet, while at the same time not going into the extremes concerning both factors. It got quite the special notes while tasting, one could wish it had a touch more power, though the problem is located rather just in the finish. Otherwise, however, brilliant composition of aromas.
