Across The Pacific
Recipe:
- 30ml Appleton Reserve rum
- 15ml Smith & Cross Jamaican rum
- 15ml Averna amaro
- 22.5ml fresh lime juice
- 22.5ml orgeat
Shake with just one ice cube until it melts and the drink is frothy. Poud into a rocks glass over crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and grated nutmeg.
Absolute (easy) Tiki banger!
The old rule applies once again: Amaro makes everything better (aka more intense and complex). Simply prebatch the first three ingredients in summer and off you go. Funkyness with banana and guava, the amaro pushes the orgeat very nicely, because the burnt caramel notes of the Italian herbal liqueur also make the almonds seem roasted. Then there are cola nut, bitter orange, fresh lime and nutmeg on the nose. Love it.
