Saint Christeau 1935 Armagnac
Again, as some times with these super vintage armagnacs, the problem is definitely the low ABV and also the somewhat dead oak, it's not crisp and delicious as in other cases, but a bit too passive already. Still overall a good balance and nice notes but had some better 1930s french brandies.
90/100 Points
Nose:
Initially almost no nose, hint of almond and tobacco, otherwise virtually non-existent, needed lots of air and warmth, then comes interesting slate at first, then baked apple, plum, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, dark toffee, quince, camphor and old dry wood, leather
Taste:
Nice sweet-dry blend, apricot, tobacco leaf, baked apple, dry oak, quince, toffee and honey, plum and fairly decent leather in the back third
Finish:
Quince, plum, apple chips, tobacco, oak, fruit peels, dry, just under medium length
